President's Message

President message!

Dear Coyote Creek Families,

I speak for myself and our new Executive VP, Jennifer He, when I say we are so excited for the beginning of the 2018-2019 school year! We look forward to another year of partnership with our amazing staff, parents, and students at Coyote Creek. This will be my first year as President of the PTA. I served last year as Financial Secretary.

A year ago I found myself as a stay at home mom with not a lot of friends and without much of a connection to my community that I truly craved. On a whim, I decided to throw myself into PTA without really knowing what I was getting myself into, or who I would be working with. I can't begin to explain how truly enriching this experience has been. I have made some of the closest friends I've ever had, I've seen how the PTA makes real, tangible contributions to our school, and I've found my sense of purpose and the connection I have longed for within my community. I am so thankful for this opportunity to serve our school.

As we enter the new school year, I implore you to find a way to get involved. We have so many amazing programs to offer, but they aren't possible without volunteers. I hear a lot from parents that they can't commit. I get it! Life is busy with work, sports, and other family obligations. But I want you to know that even helping in the smallest ways can make such a difference to our community. Showing up as a volunteer for one Science Night, one STEM festival day, or even offering to pick up pizza for an event is valuable beyond measure.

My goal this year, and also my personal philosophy, is to make sure we are doing our best to focus on the whole child. This includes academic achievement, expression of creativity, emotional well being, and social success. I hope that the many programs, activities, and enrichments we have to offer this year will reflect this idea. I believe that our community is truly unique at Coyote Creek. Our teachers and administration are unparalleled, and our Principal Mr. Alpert and Vice Principal Mrs. Lam truly care about the success of each and every student on campus. This is why we have been labeled a Distinguished School by the State of California.

Please join us to make this year the best one yet! We have an amazing board with a lot of new faces this year! Do not ever hesitate to reach out to any board member, including myself, to ask how you can help or be involved. There is always a place for you at whatever level of contribution you can make.

Wishing you and your students a fantastic year,

Jillianne Donahue
